Please note there is an expectation for you to attend the office based in Chelmsford, 2 days per week.

Who are we?

The Essex Pension Fund is one of 86 pension funds which make up the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). The LGPS is the largest defined benefit pension scheme in England and Wales with a fund value of over £340billion.

On its own, our Fund looks after 182,000 Scheme Members, over 800 Employers and is valued at approx. £13billion, placing us within the top 10 LGPS funds in the country.

Here are some of the things you would you be doing?

  • Using a suite of Microsoft products, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Responsible for service delivery by interacting with our 182,000 Scheme Members and over 700 Employers
  • Promote knowledge around relevant changes to processes and procedures
  • Actively participate in Employer Roadshows, Workshops, and other forums
  • Responsible for the accurate calculation and processing of the full range of operations within LGPS and Police & Fire pension schemes

What are we looking for?

We’d also like you to have experience of building strong working relationships and have a good understanding of the principles of administering an occupational Pension Scheme, preferably the LGPS.

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to Stage 2 certificate level in Local Government Pensions Administration or equivalent by significant experience within the Police, Fire and / or Local Government Schemes.
  • Evidence of accurately delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Evidence of providing excellent customer service.
