Waste Minimisation & Sustainability Supervisor Location: Braintree District Council Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Braintree District Council in a recruiting Waste Minimisation & Sustainability Supervisor on 6 months Fixed term basis with a potential to extend. Please note: Whilst this opportunity is being offered on an initial 6-month contract, the role is an established position within the permanent structure. A full and open recruitment process will be conducted at the end of this period to appoint to the substantive permanent post. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Waste Minimisation & Sustainability Supervisor to lead our Waste Minimisation & Sustainability Team and help drive recycling, waste reduction, and environmental awareness across the district. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, delivering projects, engaging with communities, and making a real difference to the environment. About the Role As Waste Minimisation & Sustainability Supervisor, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for delivering waste reduction and recycling initiatives that support the Council’s environmental objectives. You will oversee community engagement programmes, educational campaigns, sustainability projects, and performance monitoring activities that encourage residents, schools, and local organisations to adopt more sustainable behaviours. Working closely with internal teams, external partners, schools, and community groups, you will help increase recycling participation, reduce waste, and support the delivery of innovative environmental initiatives.
