We are seeking an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer capable of managing complex enforcement cases. You will possess a strong working knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement procedures, and have significant hands-on experience with criminal investigations, appeals, and preparing formal enforcement documentation. What the Job Involves

As a Planning Enforcement Officer, you will manage a personal caseload, including sensitive and complex matters. Your role involves carrying out site inspections, gathering evidence, and preparing enforcement reports, notices, and appeals documentation. You will provide senior professional advice to the team and collaborate with other council services, police, and regulatory bodies. This role features a hybrid working arrangement with required office or site presence, supporting urgent site visits or formal enforcement actions as needed.

Skills

  • Relevant planning qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience in criminal investigations and evidence gathering
  • Knowledge of appeals processes and preparation
  • Strong report-writing and analytical skills
  • Understanding of quality standards in service delivery
