Who You Are
You are a strategic leader with expertise in facilities building management. You possess strong governance skills and the ability to manage complex operations across councils and partner services. You are familiar with property asset management and have a knack for ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
What the Job Involves
- Lead, manage, and direct the strategy for the delivery of facilities building management across the Council and its partner services.
- Oversee the formulation and delivery of plans for the management of the Council’s property assets.
- Develop and implement effective arrangements for Facilities Management in council premises.
- Present timely information and advice to Members and Officers regarding property and land assets.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements related to property asset management.
- Establish contracts with contractors or providers for delivering Facilities Management functions.
- Direct and monitor providers and contractors to ensure services meet specified standards and budgets.
- Stay conversant with statutory and regulatory requirements and develop managerial skills to meet post requirements.
Skills
- Degree in Facilities Management or similar
- CIWFM or similar professional accreditation
- Project Management qualification – PRINCE 2
- Strong strategic and governance abilities
- Excellent contract management skills
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and lifecycle repairs
- Ability to ensure legislative compliance
