Who You Are

The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a strong background in Child Protection and Court Work, possessing a good understanding of trauma-informed practice. You must be able to provide high-quality references that meet DfE guidance.

This role demands you take the lead in safeguarding children and young people at risk of significant harm as defined by the Children Act 1989. You have a deep commitment to managing and mitigating risks to children, and a strong capability in undertaking casework within legislative frameworks.

What the Job Involves

This statutory role involves safeguarding children by identifying risks, planning interventions, and supporting alternative home placements for children where necessary. Primary tasks include:

• Directing work with children, young people, and families in various settings, ensuring the child's voice is central in all casework.
• Delivering support through recognized packages and tools.
• Building effective, purposeful relationships with families to support change.
• Conducting assessments of need and risk, with evidence-based decision making, and maintaining accurate case records.
• Undertaking court work, potentially giving evidence on behalf of the local authority.
• Continual practice development and professional supervision.
