Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Basildon Borough Council in recruiting an Event's Co-Ordinator on a full-time, temporary basis. 

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week. 

Basildon Borough Council is one of the largest local authorities in the East of England region, serving a population of approximately 180,000 people. Regarded as a key economic hub employment ranging from engineering and research to development, distribution and financial services, Basildon is the second biggest economy in the Thames Gateway, outside of Canary Wharf. Basildon Borough comprises the six main settlements of Basildon, Billericay, Wickford, Westley Heights, Laindon, and Pitsea.

We are looking for an experienced Events Coordinator to work within our communications, and events team. You will ensure the safe and effective delivery of events of different sizes and to different audiences, providing support to our partners and communities to deliver their events. You will have the ability to motivate individuals, give clear direction and support projects with bespoke plans to enable the events programme to be innovative, creative and delivered to a high standard. You will be experienced in event staff and volunteer management, community and commercial event planning, IOSH compliance and dealing with customers and partners effectively and professionally so will require excellent organisation, customer service and negotiation skills.

Time management, attention to detail and good organisation are key skills, as is the ability to connect and build rapport with a diverse range of colleagues and customers. It goes without saying, you will have experience running or working on events, with a sense of teamwork to involve the relevant people where needed. Self-awareness and cooperation are required to fulfil the role and also help to maintain the positive working environment and team dynamic.
