Colchester City Council is on an exciting journey to modernise how we work,
how we collaborate, and how we deliver services for our residents and
businesses. As one of the largest districts in Essex, we’re investing in
creating a truly modern digital workplace and we’re looking for someone who
wants to play a key role in shaping it.
Lead the team that powers our modern workplace
This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role where your work will make a real
difference every day. You’ll help colleagues get the very best out of our
digital tools, making work simpler, faster and more connected.
You’ll also lead a talented team of four developers, supporting their
growth, guiding their work and helping them deliver brilliant digital
solutions across the organisation.
Work with the technologies that shape our future
You’ll sit right at the heart of our digital modernisation programme,
working with:
SharePoint (Modern)
Build and shape modern sites, collaboration spaces and document management
experiences that help teams work smarter.
Power Platform — with a strong focus on Canvas Apps
Design intuitive, low‑code apps that remove manual processes, streamline
workflows and connect key data across services.
Dynamics 365 (D365)
Enhance case management, automation, and insight, helping teams deliver
better services for residents.
You’ll also support our ongoing move away from legacy Windows Server
versions into a secure, reliable and future‑ready environment, bringing
fresh ideas and a collaborative approach to every project.
If you enjoy solving problems, helping people work better, and making
technology feel effortless, you’ll thrive here.
What you’ll bring
Why Colchester is a great place to grow your career
We believe people do their best work when they’re supported, trusted and
encouraged to develop. You’ll enjoy:
