Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Basildon Council to recruit two temporary Damp and Mould Surveyors on an initial 6-month temporary basis in their Property, Asset Management & Development team. Please note you will be required to work on site and travel around the borough a minimum of 3 days per week. Job Purpose To deliver a proactive and responsive damp and mould investigation service across the council’s housing stock, ensuring homes are safe, healthy, and compliant with statutory duties. The role provides expert diagnosis, technical advice, and works specification to ensure all damp and mould cases are resolved effectively, prioritising resident wellbeing and meeting the council’s obligations under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), the Social Housing (Regulation) Act, Decent Homes, and Awaab’s Law.
