Job description

  • Tendring District Council is seeking an experienced leader to manage our Development and Building section. You will drive service improvement, oversee housing development and maintenance, and ensure compliance with legislation and Council policies. The role includes deputising for the Assistant Director, Building & Public Realm and representing the Council with external partners.

What you will need:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience (e.g., Surveying)
  • Proven record in housing maintenance and management
  • Chartered status or higher-level professional membership
  • Senior-level experience in a complex organisation
  • Strong leadership, budget management, and IT skills
  • This is a politically restricted post. Flexibility for evening meetings and emergencies is required.
