Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) to recruit for a temporary Planning Officer – Development Manager on a rolling 3-month contract, up to one year to cover a maternity leave. Please note this role will start in January 2026. Please note you will be required on a site 2 days per week. PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Planning Officer post will provide opportunities to deal with a range of planning applications and all tasks associated with the business of the Service. They should also have a good understanding of the use of technology for the delivery of modern and streamlined services and processes. We have considerable coverage of Green Belt across the District and therefore any candidate will be expected to be familiar with how planning applications are determined when located within the Green Belt.
