Please note this is a part time annualised hours position working 14.8 hours per week on Sundays and Mondays the pro rata salary will be £10,032.40 per annum.

Role Overview

We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to play a key part in keeping our country park welcoming and safe for visitors. In this role you'll support our Ranger team by opening the park for visitors, keeping facilities clean and tidy, and carrying out essential checks - including livestock checks using an All-Terrain Vehicle. You'll help create a positive experience for everyone who visits, working in nature as part of a friendly team and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the park.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the daily operation of the parks by ensuring all car park vehicle access points to the park are open at the times publicised to the general public and also securely closed when the site is closed. 
  • Assist with the efficiency of the operation by ensuring all facilities including toilets, buildings and storage areas are secure and designated areas are available as needed. 
  • Assist with the efficiency of the operation by ensuring that all facilities are cleaned and maintained including toilets, litter picking, and bin clearance are undertaken.  
  • Support general operational activities as required.  
  • Complete relevant checks such as Health and Safety checks within the park and completing all relevant paperwork in line with procedures. 
  • Engage with customers to consider and improve the visitor’s experience; dealing with issues and problems involving visitors that occur within a Country Park. 
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework. 
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested commensurate with the level of the role and responsibilities. 

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE or BTech), or equivalent by experience. 
  • Experience of working with members of the public or customers delivering excellent customer service. 
  • Evidence of good communication skills with the ability to deliver information and advice. 
  • Experience of working within a team and supporting team members to deliver local objectives.
  • Experience of working in facilities maintenance or the outdoors is desirable. 

Interviews will be in-person at Hadleigh Country Park, Chapel Lane, Hadleigh SS7 2PP on 17th & 18th December 2025
