Our values: Trust, Respect, Improving and Learning, and Customer Focus The Opportunity This is a temporary opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join the team on a 3–6-month basis. This role is being offered on a full or part time basis and will involve regular traveling around the borough completing inspections as well as working in the office. The focus of this role will be to deal with Public Health & Nuisance and/or Private Sector Housing (HHSRS & HMO). You will be required to respond to and investigate complaints and requests for service in an efficient and effective manner, carrying out the appropriate actions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, statutory requirements, Codes of Practice and good practice guidance. Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
Practical working experience within an Environmental Health department
Ability to be sensitive to the political environment and able to deal with difficult customers and situations
A broad working knowledge of current Environmental Health legislation
Ability to assimilate, analyse and translate technical and statistical information
