Customer Care & Sales Advisor

Job Title: Customer Care & Sales Advisor

Directorate: Commercial & Assets
Service: Recreation
Location: Waterside Farm Leisure Centre & Runnymede Leisure Centre
Grade: Grade 2 – £25,583 
Hours: 20-30 hours per week - Weekdays , Evenings & Weekends 
Responsible to: Sales & Marketing Lead

Job Purpose

To be the front-of-house team at Waterside Farm and Runnymede Leisure Centres, delivering exceptional customer service while actively driving sales and promoting recreational services. The role includes handling enquiries, processing bookings, conducting tours, upselling memberships and retail products, and contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Key Service Accountabilities

  • Provide friendly, efficient, and accurate customer service across all channels.
  • Promote and sell memberships, swimming lessons, and recreational activities.
  • Generate and chase leads, conduct tours, and use upselling techniques.
  • Manage bookings, process payments, handle cancellations and refunds.
  • Monitor and collect debt, complete financial returns and documentation.
  • Market activities via social media and promotional materials.
  • Address customer concerns and contribute to retention initiatives.
  • Ensure facilities are clean, well-presented, and compliant with food safety.
  • Collaborate with the Recreation team and identify service improvements.
  • Participate in training and development.

Person Specification

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong sales aptitude and ability to generate leads.
  • Administrative and financial handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience:

  • Essential: Previous customer service experience.
  • Desirable: Administrative, financial handling, and leisure centre experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/equivalent or above.
