Casual Ambulance Driver Location, Harlow Part-Time, Temporary Casual £14.87 PAYE Closing Date: Monday 13th October 2025 Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Harlow Council to recruit a Casual Ambulance Driver Harlow is a district of contrasts and an ideal location to both live and work. The town itself is thriving, with excellent shopping and leisure facilities for all ages. We have good road links to the M11 and M25 and excellent rail connections to London and Stansted Airport, just 35 minutes and 20 minutes away from Harlow respectively. Job Purpose: The Role: We are looking to recruit casual ambulance drivers to provide support for existing staff and to undertake ambulance driving duties at the Leah Manning Centre. The role will involve transporting frail elderly people to and from the Leah Manning centre from various locations throughout the town. You will be responsible for making sure our transport vehicles are kept clean and taken to our partner agency when servicing and MOTs are scheduled. Hours of work will be casual and flexible to meet the needs of the service. Working times are generally around 8.30am – 11.00am and 2.30pm – 4.30pm. A good geographical knowledge of Harlow is essential, and applicants must be in possession of a full clean driving licence, which includes category D1. The successful applicant must be willing to undertake training or hold a valid MIDAS certificate. Experience of working with older people is essential. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
