Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Braintree District Council to recruit an Environmental Health Officer on an initial 3-month temporary basis. Please note that you will be required to work in the Council offices or in the District during the placement. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player to undertake the full range of duties working in a geographical area of the district. The Housing & Pollution specialist will undertake our HMO licensing, inspect properties for HHSRS compliance and carry out appropriate enforcement, respond to complaints of nuisance, filthy and verminous premises, permitted processes and contaminated land, and serving notices as necessary. The role will also respond to planning and licensing consultations and play an active role in delivering any public health initiatives that we are involved in.
