The Opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainable Energy Officer to join our team. Supporting the Council's objectives to reach Net Zero by 2030 where practicable, and the district to achieve the same, you will also contribute to the nation's efforts to reach Net Zero by 2050. Working within the Sustainability Team, you will manage the Council’s energy contracts, energy efficiency, renewable energy and decarbonisation related activities. You will be involved in the delivery and management of solar photovoltaic schemes and EV infrastructure across the Council’s estate and will collate energy data to support the annual carbon emissions reporting and annual Climate Change Action Plan report. In the district, you will work with partner organisations and assist in bidding for external grant funding and managing schemes to tackle the cost-of-living crisis by saving residents money and making their homes more energy efficient, as well as supporting businesses in becoming more energy efficient.
