Customer Services Advisor – Waste Full-Time, Temporary 8 Weeks Contract Rochford, Essex 37 Hours per Week £15 per Hour PAYE Closing Date: Friday 5th September 2025 Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Rochford & Brentwood Council to recruit a Customer Services Advisor on a full-time, temporary basis. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to be on-site 3 days per week. Role Purpose We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused individual to serve as the first point of contact for all enquiries related to the new Food Waste Service. This role involves managing a variety of communication channels and delivering a high standard of service to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient issue resolution. Main Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing accurate information and resolving enquiries related to the Food Waste Service across multiple platforms including telephone, email, and webchat. Deliver courteous, professional, and empathetic service at all times. Use effective communication techniques to manage sensitive situations and de-escalate conflict when necessary. Promptly and accurately record customer interactions and service requests using the contractor’s IT system (Bartec), ensuring data integrity and service efficiency. To observe all the requirements of Safeguarding and to report any potential Safeguarding concerns in accordance with the Council’s Safeguarding Policy.
