Are you ready to shape the future of our built environment? Castle Point Borough Council is seeking a passionate and skilled Building Control Surveyor to join our dynamic Development Services team. We are entering an exciting period and need a committed and enthusiastic individual, who enjoys a challenge, to assist the Council in maintaining its reputation for high quality service and decision making. We have recently been audited by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and have worked to put in place the necessary monitoring and reporting to be fully compliant with the Operational Standards Rules (OSRs), with the aim to conclude our audit and ensure full compliance by the end of this year. In this exciting and varied role, you’ll be at the forefront of building control, ensuring developments comply with Building Regulations. You will; Key Skills and abilities Qualifications Applicants must hold both a GCSE or equivalent, in Maths and English at Grade C (Grade 4) and above. Applicants should ideally be a Class 2 (A-F) Registered Building Inspector (RBI), but other Class RBIs will be considered. Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and or other relevant equivalent professional bodies is desirable. Applicants must hold a full valid UK driving licence (for site visits).
