The Opportunity:

Braintree District Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our successful Street Scene Protection Team as a Street Warden, based in Braintree, Essex.

As a Street Warden, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming town centre. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting high-visibility patrols in designated areas to deter anti-social behaviour.
  • Engaging with local businesses, retailers, and residents to build strong community relationships.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for minor incidents of anti-social behaviour.
  • Collaborating with partner agencies to support community safety initiatives.
  • Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for low-level offences, including breaches of Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs), to help improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.

  • Self-motivated, conscientious, and enthusiastic.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
