This position has been classed as an anywhere worker role but has an expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office, in Chelmsford 1 day per month, with the remaining time for remote working if desired, in line with the organisation’s needs.

About This Role
This role is a key part of our communications and marketing function. You will lead on promoting our CPD offer to a wide audience, ensuring that opportunities are clearly communicated and well-attended. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and growing our professional Facebook page to engage the education community
  • Creating and distributing internal and external newsletters
  • Developing marketing materials and campaigns for CPD programmes
  • Working with colleagues to ensure consistent messaging and branding
  • Monitoring engagement and using insights to improve reach and effectiveness

The Opportunity

The Education Service is focused on continued improvement in the service to ensure every child and young person in Essex receives the best possible education and their individual needs are met. The Workforce Development team will deliver a professional development programme to equip the education workforce to meet the challenges ahead for education. 

This role is focused on the co-ordination of external development and training to ensure delivery is to a high standard, is consistent and offers high quality of outputs. This will be monitored on a regular basis by robust analysis and evaluation of learning using a number of tools to record activity and evaluate different courses. It will incorporate the planning process with evidence of aptitude and gaps in knowledge and experience that needs to be addressed. 

An experienced individual, able to prioritise and plan activity as required. Flexible to respond to new challenges and highlight the risks. 

Accountabilities

  • Provide professional management support to the Business Development Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring good practice activity is shared with the external workforce using appropriate IT systems and toolkits.
  • Ensure grant funding is linked to workforce development meets statutory duties.
  • Track and monitor internal learning and development activities to evaluate the impact of learning and development using analytical skills and provide intelligence to the Business Development Manager.
  • Work closely with the Systems and Intelligence team to collate data to enable senior leaders to influence strategic decision making linked to external workforce development.
  • Use analytical data to identify gaps in the skills and knowledge of the external workforce
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Educated to A level or equivalent by experience. 
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area. 
  • Evidence of good communication skills and the ability to influence others
  • Evidence of a secure knowledge of IT systems
  • Evidence of using data to challenge the ‘status quo’
  • Experience of working within an education environment and supporting children and young people to achieve the best outcomes for them
