Job description An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Supervisor to join our Operations team. Business Support is an integral team within the Operations Service as they support and provide administrative tasks for teams within the Service. Taking a lead on the day-to-day management of the team, you will be responsible for the supervision of employees, including performance and absence management, staff development and team building. You will ensure a smooth and efficient delivery of services, providing administrative support to the Unit Managers, as well as co-ordinating and collating all Operations performance data, establishing and maintaining appropriate monitoring systems and providing accurate information management. A driven, positive and proactive approach is needed, as you will need to work with the Unit Managers to identify opportunities to develop improvements and innovations in service delivery, to create responsive and profitable services going forward. The successful candidate will have proven team management experience, along with good knowledge and understanding of business management preferably in a local government environment. You will have great negotiating and influencing skills, with an ability to think creatively to develop processes and procedures to maximise business efficiency. You will also have excellent communication skills, to support your team and front line managers. You will need to be a team player with strong interpersonal and organisational skills and a proactive and enthusiastic approach to challenges. You will be organised, with the ability to manage differing priorities, with no two days the same. Strong IT, data analysis and report writing skills are a must.
