We are currently recruiting a Registration Service Officer (Frontline) based at Basildon Library. This is a part-time position working 22.2 hours per week on a rolling rota. The role is for 12 months on a Fixed Term Contract or Secondment opportunity. Actual salary earning based on 22.2 hours per week - £15,048 up to £16,591 per annum. Hours: 8:50am - 5:00pm Working pattern (four week rolling rota): Week 1 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Week 3 – Thursday, Friday, Saturday Week 4 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Base: Basildon Library with the expectation to cover other offices as required. The Opportunity The Registration Service Officer (Frontline) is an essential front-line role, responsible for delivering one of the core elements of service delivery for the Essex Registration Service. Primarily responsible for registering Births, Deaths and Stillbirths, as well as taking Notices of Intent for Marriages and Civil Partnerships, the role requires organisation, attention to detail and good working knowledge of Microsoft applications. The role is fully trained, ensuring the competency and expertise to undertake all legislative and statutory duties and functions in compliance with General Register Office (GRO) governance and regulations, to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set out in the code of practice. The role also interacts with internal and external colleagues, partners and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in one of the largest and highest performing registration authorities in the country, alongside a highly dedicated, passionate team. Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
