This position has been classed as an anywhere worker role but has an expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office, in Chelmsford 1 day per month, with the remaining time for remote working if desired, in line with the organisation’s needs

Education

The Opportunity

The Education Service is focused on continued improvement in the service to ensure every child and young person in Essex receives the best possible education and their individual needs are met. The Workforce Development team will deliver a professional development programme to equip the education workforce to meet the challenges ahead for education. 

This role is focused on the co-ordination of internal development and training to ensure delivery is to a high standard, is consistent and offers high quality of outputs. This will be monitored on a regular basis by robust analysis and evaluation of learning using a number of tools to record activity and evaluate different courses. It will incorporate the planning process with evidence of aptitude and gaps in knowledge and experience that needs to be addressed. 

An experienced individual, able to prioritise and plan activity as required. Flexible to respond to new challenges and highlight the risks. 

Accountabilities

  • Provide professional event management support to both the Workforce Development Manager and Business Development Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring good practice activity is shared with both the internal and external workforce using appropriate IT systems and toolkits.
  • Support financial functions within the workforce development team
  • Ensure grant funding is linked to workforce development meets statutory duties.
  • Track and monitor learning and development activities to ensure costs are not exceeded and are pro-active in line with budget profiling.
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Educated to A level or equivalent by experience. 
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area. 
  • Evidence of good communication skills and the ability to influence others
  • Evidence of financial functions such as invoicing and cost management
  • Secure knowledge of IT systems
  • Experience of working within an education environment and supporting children and young people to achieve the best outcomes for them 
  • Experience of working with a Learner Management System (LMS) desirable but not essential.
