The Role

Tendring District Council are keen to engage an experienced Surveyor and Manager for a 3 month assignment, based out of their site in Clacton on a 2–3-day basis, with flexibility for site visits and home working.

 Accountabilities

• Lead a dedicated housing repair team managing over 3,100 tenanted and 400 leasehold properties.
• Procure and manage service and maintenance contracts, ensuring value and performance.
• Champion service standards and quality improvements across both in-house and contracted teams.
• Resolve complex repair issues, disrepair cases, and escalated complaints with confidence and clarity.
• Set the tone for professional conduct, becoming a role model within the team.

The Experience You Will Bring

A seasoned Building Surveyor with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for quality. Ideally, you hold a BSc and MRICS status, but equivalent experience and expertise are equally valued. You must bring leadership presence, professionalism, and a breadth of experience in similar roles, ideally within a local authority.
